Suzaku is the God of the South and the Red Phoenix (or Peacock) with
short, upswept hair of a fiery red, slanted eyes, crimson wings and a
godly physique. Much can't be said about his blood-type or age, but he
does have the ability to grant his Miko (priestess) 3 wishes.
Yuuki Miaka, a 158cm tall junior highschool student with a voracious
appetite, weighs only 48kg. The B-blooded girl was born on May 12th, 1977
and has a mother, a step-father and a brother (Keisuke). Cheerful, easy-going,
naive and very trusting, she can be impulsive when spiritless but occasionally
shows some insight. Not too bright, but brave and able to eat anything
in any situation.
Seishi name Tamahome, real name Sou Kishuku, this 17 year-old is the
sole supporter of his 4 younger siblings and sick father.
Cheerful, tough, innocent and willing to sacrifice himself to protect
his loved ones, this O-blooded 180cm-tall Cancerian is also a naturally
skilled martial artist.
Named Seishuku Saihitei at birth, he became the 4th Emperor of Konan when 14 years
old. Handsome, young and lonely, the 182cm-tall 18 year-old is an expert
swordsman and occasionally vain.
With state administration and politics occupying his time, Hotohori
cherishes moments of solitude meditating and dreaming about the
'Suzaku no Miko' from his childhood stories.
The second child of a shopkeeper in Konan's capital, Chou Ryuuen had a
younger twin-sister who died in a cart-accident.
The 166cm-tall B-blood entered the Imperial Courts when 17 and gained
the Emperor's attention after a display of super-human strength.
A Buddhist monk with an ambiguous history, 175cm-or-75cm-tall Chichiri
possesses all the calm air of his 24-years. Masked and mysterious, he
can be both silly or serious and is the source of wise counsel for the
other Suzaku Seishis. Unmasked, he shows a scarred eye gained from a
duel of the past. Armed with magic learning from Taiitsukun, he is
also possessed of no evident selfish desires, setting him apart from
ordinary men.
Real name Kou Shun'u, nick-name Genrou, this bloke was born at the foot
of Mt. Reikaku. Blessed with 2 parents and cursed with 5 older sisters,
the 178cm-tall B-blood is 17 years-old and the elected head of a gang of
bandits. Weapons specialty is the tessen, or iron fan, which can spew
forth a torrent of flames when "liekka shien" is spoken.
Born as Myou Juan in Northern Konan, at 22 years and 199cm he lost his
love to a fever while healing others at a nearby village. This caused
him to forswear his healing powers and become a ragged hermit with a
soft-spot for animals. Possessing O-blood and no relatives, this Seishi
is shy, has difficulty expressing himself and a serious never-changing
facial expression.
Known to his aged mother and elder brother as Ou Doukun, Chiriko hails
from Western Konan.
A short 148cm for his 13 years and possessed of
a high intelligence as his Seishi-ability, Chiriko also has a complex
over his diminutive state, aswell as an absence of intelligence when
without the talent. However, this is made up in full by his kind-hearted
and gentle personality.
Seiryuu, like Suzaku, has an ambiguous age and blood-type, not to mention
family-history....
He is known to be the God of the East, with the
Azure Dragon as his avatar, and also possesses the ability to bestow 3
wishes to his Miko.
Born in Tokyo and a classmate of Miaka's, Yui is an only child of two
working parents. Weighing in at 49kg and 162cm tall, she has confidence,
intelligence and AB blood. Was infatuated with Tamahome, but is now
going with Tetsuya. Yui was also the Seiryuu no Miko.
The last descendant of the Han race, Nakago delights in torturing Tamahome
and making good use of the 2/3rds of Kutou military under his command.
Twenty-five years old and 193cm tall, this person can direct his ki (or
chi) in the form of spells and charismatic appeal. Cool, calm and cruel
describes this life-form, along with a tendency to discard that which
has no use to him.
Born as Bu Koutoku in Kotou, this lad is only 15 years old and saw his
parents killed in a civil war. Gentle and reserved, but prone to occasional
acts of violence, such as busting people's heads with his fatal fluting.
This B-blooded 168cm tall lad lives only to care for and to protect his
younger twin brother.
Suboshi, also called Bu Shukanku, is Amiboshi's younger twin brother.
Physically, they are identical, but Suboshi is more violent, determined,
obstinate, and reckless. Devoted utterly to his twin and to Yui for
being the only two people who were truly kind to him, Suboshi also
harbors a deep hate for the Suzaku no Miko and Seishi.
Named Ruo Chuin by his childhood caretaker, Tomo was abandoned at birth.
Not much is known about this 21 year-old AB-blood, except that he's 184cm
tall, is a master at illusions using Shin (a clam), and is attracted to
Nakago....
Mysterious Miboshi is an approx. one meter high magician who can possess
people at whim. Rumoured to have been around for a very long time and has
a daten mark (or third-eye) on his forehead.
19 year-old Soi, born as Haku Kaen in a brothel, is 170cm tall and has
O-blood. This young lass loves Nakago, reason being that he saved her
from life in a brothel. I think...
This big beastie is 34 years old and over 2 metres tall. Not much is
known about his background, except that Nakago found and "rescued" him
from life in a circus, resulting in Ashitare's love-hate feelings for
Nakago.
Genbu, Guardian God of the North with the Black Turtle
as his animal aspect.

Hikitsu is a 16 year old O-blood ghost that's been around for 200 years, guarding
a necklace that can summon the gods. His Seishi symbol appears over his right eye,
thus the eyepatch.
Specialises in the manipulation of ice magic and is really named
Chen Imatato.
O-blood Tomite is the 21 year old ghost companion of Hikitsu. With an icy skill
in archery, this Seishi is a formidable foe. Seishi symbol appears on the right
side of his back while his birth-name is Tan Chamka.
Byakko, Guardian God of the West with the White Tiger
as his animal aspect.
Age, temperament and general history

110 year old Tatara has the appearance of a 181cm tall, 20 year old man whose
true name is Tsuonie Kasaru. Possesses the power to manipulate plants and seeds
by making them grow and move to his will (very much like a certain famous
red-haired youko). He was born on March 21st, but his heart died when his beloved
Miko, Oosugi Suzuno returned to the Real World.
Tokaki (Hahm Lan-Uam) is 183cm tall, and thanks to his wife, Subaru can be a lecherous
horny 109 year old man or a very handsome 19 year old, B-blood. Seishi symbol appears
on the left cheek and he's a very deadly wielder of a pair of magical boomerang-like
hoop earrings. Was Tamahome's sensei in martial arts and has a daughter, Shoufun.
The previously mentioned wife to Tokaki, Subaru (Hahm Dourim) is responsible for maintaining
the lovely, youthful appearances of the Byakko seishi. Two years younger than her husband
(you do the math), she stands at 163cm, is blood type O and has a seishi-marked left breast!
Tsukunami Taka is a college student who practises kenpo and is a 17 year
old O-blood Cancerian. Works as a waiter (temporarily) at a cafe near Miaka's
school and happens to like her. And if I say anything else about this guy you'd
kill me for telling spoilers!
Yuuki Keisuke. Poor guy. He's in college, and has to watch or read on as his lil'
sister falls into one scrape after another! Happy normal B-blooded Ningen who's 20yrs
old and 180cm tall. Single. Blondey-brown haired. And he's Japanese!?
Best friend to Keisuke, and also a college student. If you happen to see Tetsuya's
eyes in the anime or manga at *any* time - rejoice! Take 3 drinks! The 20yr old, B-blood
who's shorter than Keisuke by 1cm seems to have his sunnies permanently affixed to
his face. Seems to have this thing for Yui later on in the manga... *Aaaw*
Shouka appears briefly in the series to help introduce Suzaku Seishi Mitsukake
and his powers of healing. Beautiful, kind, and possesses a rather devilish streak
of character....
Ano, not that much is known (or a lot's been forgotten!) about this
lucky lass, Houki. She's Hotohori's chosen wife (and just happens to bear an
uncanny resemblance to both Miaka and Nuriko!) and we meet her for the
first time in the OAV series, methinks. She gives birth to a son and
heir, Boushin and telling anything else would be spoiling it.
Well, admittedly Taiitsukun is an ugly old hag, nee-ee? But I betcha havna
seen Tai-chan's alternate form! *GoNG!* Guardian of Mt. ??? and Seer of the
World of the Four Gods... Err. Somehow that doesna seem quite right... I
lost all of my FY info when my HD crashed, and my Nihongo sucks. Tai-chan
advises the Suzaku seishi, gives their abilities a powerup, and wields a
fair amount of sorcery.
Whether a blue little floating sphere or a chirpy blue-haired girl,
Nyan-Nyan is without a doubt annoying, pesky, and very handy to have
around! She's able to multiply into several identical versions of
herself, heal, cast minor sutra spells and transport people between
dimensions. I think. Ageless, female, do immortals have blood-types!?
Tamahome is the eldest child in his family. His mother is gone (presumed dead),
and his father is very sick (until Mitsukake heals him). Has four younger sibs
from eldest to youngest - Chyuuei (boy), Gyokuran (girl), Shyuekei (boy) and
Yuiren (girl). Tamahome seems to like Yuiren the best, but dearly loves his whole
family. Because of their peasant origins and his sick father, Tamahome's money
grubbing mentality is explained in his need to support them.
